OPEN POSITIONS:
BUSINESS AND MARKETING STAFF
Advertising Director: Responsible over the advertisements in the physical and online magazine. Works with businesses and organizations, as well as the graphic designers to ensure 101 Magazine has advertising funds.
Account Executives: Assists the Advertising Director with multimedia ad sales.
Public Relations/Marketing Director: Promotes the magazine to the campus and on a national scale.
Social Media Director: Responsible for overseeing and enhancing social media presence.
Street Team: Assist the Public Relations/Marketing Director in promoting the magazine to the campus and on a national scale.
NEWS AND FEATURES STAFF
Managing Editor: Works with the Editor-in-Chief in overall management of the print magazine, website and other platforms.
Multimedia Producer: Primarily responsible for developing video and other multimedia content.
Podcast Producer: Develops and produces primary and customized podcasts.
Copy Chief: Coordinates copy editors and assigns stories to be edited for grammar, spelling, and style mistakes in a story (or any other text for that matter) after it is written and edited for content and clarity. Knowledge of AP Style is a must. Is a also responsible for maintenance of 101’s style guide and ensuring its accessibility to 101 staff.
Sports Editor: Responsible for generating sports story ideas. Is passionate about collegiate (NCAA) sports as well as professional. Should be knowledgeable of current sports happenings and popular athletes. Will work to create fresh sports story angles and edit pieces for section.
The Town Editor: Responsible for generating The Town story ideas. Is passionate about happenings around cities across the country. Should be knowledgeable of the restaurant, retail and tourist industry. Will create fresh story angles and edit pieces for section.
The Notebook Editor: Responsible for generating The Notebook story ideas. Is passionate about collegiate events, concerns and issues, including finance, love and relationships, national campus news, greek life, social media etc. Will create fresh story angles and edit pieces for section.
Fact Checkers: Should possess research experience and be comfortable searching the Internet to research as well as utilizing other avenues.
Copy Editors: Edit stories for grammar, spelling, and style mistakes in a story (or any other text for
that matter) after it is written and edited for content and clarity.
Staff Writers: Expected to create content for a particular section on a fairly regular basis (i.e. weekly). At least one piece a week is expected of our staff writers. Staff writers report to their section editors, although staff writers are welcome to contribute to other sections as well.
ART STAFF
Art Director: Responsible for ensuring all visual aspects of the online and print magazine are top notch and ready for publication.
Photo Editor: Responsible for working with the Art Director to find and edit photographs for the publication.
Staff Photographers: Expected to provide visual content for a particular section on a fairly regular basis (i.e. weekly). Will be called upon to take photos for particular stories. Staff photographers will work closely with staff writers and section editors to produce pictures for articles and content on 101 Magazine.
Graphic Designers: Charged with creating the layouts and designs for 101, as well as assisting the Art Director.
