- Farmers Markets
There’s nothing better in the fall than a special, sweet treat, fresh pumpkins and other produce. D.C. offers a wide selection of incredible farmers markets across the city. Some popular options are located in Dupont Circle, Eastern Market and Falls Church.
- Doughnuts
You can’t celebrate fall in D.C. without apple cider donuts; an East Coast staple during this time of year. Lucky for you, you can find this dessert at most bakeries across the city. Max Donuts, Cox Farms and Donut Run (for a vegan option) offer a great selection of popular seasonal donuts.
- U.S. National Arboretum – Washington DC
A 446-acre garden museum is a perfect place to explore once it gets chilly outside. The U.S. National Arboretum is full of beautiful plant displays and exhibits. It’s most known for the National Capitol Columns which were originally at the U.S. Capitol building from 1828 to 1958.

- Museums
What is D.C. without its wide selection of free museums. Some of the best museums to visit are the Smithsonian, National Gallery of art and the National Museum of African-American History and Culture. You cannot go wrong with any of these special exhibits.
