101 Magazine Presents: ‘A Year For The Books – The Centennial Homecoming Issue’ Fall 2024

Hello, readers! My name is Sabrina McCrear, I am a senior journalism major and biology minor from New Jersey and this year I am serving as 101 Magazines Editor-In-Chief.

This year 101 Magazine presents Howard Homecoming’s, Fall 2024, Centennial Issue and welcomes you to ‘A Year for the Books’!

This issue is nothing short of monumental—in celebration of Howard University’s Centennial Homecoming 101 Magazine has dedicated this issue to celebrating the present and the past of Howard’s historic weeklong celebration.

In our last issue, 101 Magazine highlighted the evolution of Homecoming and the progressive changes that come with time. This year we’re highlighting the hard work that goes into preparing for the events everyone looks forward to.

Our behind-the-scenes feature incorporates multimedia components that combine the past and the present of Howard Homecoming to show just how far we’ve come.

Initially, we planned to incorporate a dual feature issue that encompassed not one, but two pivotal moments in Howard’s history—Homecoming and the 2024 presidential election. But, we ultimately decided each event deserved its recognition devoid of the other.

Therefore we’d like to introduce you to ‘A Year for the Book’! Our centennial issue is packed with stories that encompass enhanced culture, excitement and Bison pride exuded by fellow students and alumni alike.

Our writers and photographers inserted themselves right in the thick of it to capture the most authentic Howard Homecoming experience. We hope that you enjoy this issue just as much as we enjoyed making it!

Lastly, we’d like to thank you for your continued support of our Magazine and we hope that you enjoy ‘A Year for the Book’!
