Kendrick Lamar is set to take the stage at the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans, Louisiana, fans are buzzing about what his setlist might look like. 

Lamar, known for his thought-provoking lyrics and his high-energy performances has no shortage of hits to choose from. However, this isn’t his first time on the stage at the Super Bowl, Lamar was a guest performer at the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime show, along with rappers Dr. Dre, Anderson Paak, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J Blige.

He’s also performed “M.A.A.d City” and “ALRIGHT.” So the question is “What songs will be featured at the 2025 Halftime show?”

  1. Not Like Us

As many people know, on May 4th, 2024, Kendrick Lamar released the diss track “Not Like Us”  in response to his rap beef with Drake. The song was the summer anthem of 2024 and very popular in his hometown Compton—where the video was shot. Lamar’s music has become a household favorite, which also helped his song get nominated and win five categories at the 2025 Grammys Awards. If this song could get everyone at the Staples Center jumping, then you know the Cesar Superdome in New Orleans will be lit!

Sharif Nelson, junior TV and film major stated  “This song was well overdue, rap has needed a little razzle-dazzle just to shake it up.”

  1. All the Stars featuring SZA

 “All the Stars,” featuring SZA, came out on Jan. 4th, 2018, with the release of the movie Black Panther. As the film Black Panther grew, the song gained momentum as Marvel introduced their first Black superhero creating a sense of culture in the Black community.

It’s also been confirmed that SZA will be in attendance with Kendrick Lamar at the Super Bowl. With this song being a fan favorite from their collaboration projects this will most likely be performed. 

The two artists also announced that they will be going on tour together starting April 19th, 2025. This would be an epic way to introduce what they have in store.

 This song will be a great addition to the set list for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show especially since this is the first year that the Super Bowl will see two Black quarterbacks playing against each other.

The song “Humble” from his “DAMN” album, released on April 14th, 2017, had a memorable impact. The song speaks to the essence of who Kendrick Lamar is. 

`When thinking about Kendrick Lamar, a lot of people don’t hear too much negativity because he appears very down-to-earth. This song alone received three Grammys at the 2018 Grammy Awards Show. Let’s not forget how the booming beat shocked the world in 2017, hyping everyone up. If Kendrick Lamar performs this song, he will only add to the stadium’s shaking energy. 

“I think Kendrick Lamar performing ‘Humble’ at the Super Bowl would be such an amazing way to showcase artistry and get the crowd hyped,” said Cynthia Taylor-Cutler, a junior Journalism major. “He created that song to let people know that he’s number one, top two, but not two, and I would love it if he performed “Humble “.”

Kendrick Lamar will likely perform “TV OFF” from his newest album, GNX, which came out November 22nd, 2024. The song is an undeniable attention grabber. The song’s aggressive beat and high-energy delivery make it a perfect fit because it will keep the crowd engaged. 

Performing it on a massive stage would solidify the song’s impact, mainly because Kendrick displays a raw expression throughout the song. Kendrick’s raw expression aligns with his reputation for making powerful statements, allowing “TV OFF” to leave a lasting impression.
