“Love Island USA” season seven has become the most successful installment in the franchise’s history and its impact continues to ripple months after the finale, particularly for breakout contestant Olandria Carthen, whose rapid rise from reality television to high-fashion modeling has drawn widespread attention.

Her momentum accelerated in October 2025 when the fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam published a high-fashion editorial featuring Carthen. The lifestyle outlet SiLifestyle reported on her “striking couture presence” and noted how seamlessly she had transitioned into a professional modeling career.

The shoot, which showcased her in couture pieces with professional-grade styling and direction, circulated widely on fashion platforms and added credibility to her growing career.

Then, in November 2025, exactly four months after the finale, Carthen’s modeling deal became public. The announcement sparked buzz online, including praise from X user @talkswithali, who wrote, Olandria’s dream of becoming a model — an editorial model at that — becoming true only four months after the show has ended will go down in history as one of the best runs someone has gotten from a reality TV show.”

The season, which aired in the summer of 2025, dominated streaming metrics. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the season reached 5.11 billion minutes of viewing time, making it Peacock’s most-watched original series ever. Audience engagement also soared. Sportskeeda states that viewers have cast more than 1 million votes in the first six minutes of a live challenge, underscoring the cast’s unusually strong hold on the public.

Carthen, who entered the villa with no professional modeling background, left the show in August of 2025 with the standard contestant payout of roughly $3,000, according to MoneyLion. Yet within weeks, she began emerging as one of the season’s most successful alumnae.

In September 2025, Carthen was invited to walk in designer Sergio Hudson’s New York Fashion Week show, a major milestone for any developing model and a rare accomplishment for a reality TV contestant. Industry insiders note that NYFW bookings typically require agency backing and signal genuine interest from fashion houses, suggesting Carthen’s appeal extended well beyond her reality TV fame.

Season seven produced several rising influencers, but Carthen’s trajectory stands out as the clearest example of how the show’s massive reach can translate into lasting professional success. In just a few months, she has shifted from a popular contestant to a recognized figure in fashion, a transformation few in the franchise have achieved.
